To a solution, cooled to 0° C., of 3.2 g (7.3 mmol) of 6-(5-benzylhexahydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrol-2-yl)-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-7,8-dimethylimidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine in 20 mL of chloroform is added dropwise a solution of 1.8 g (11 mmol) of iodine monochloride in 3 mL of methanol and the medium is stirred for one hour at room temperature.
