In a manner similar to the method described in Example 1e, rac-(2R,3R,4R,5S)-3-(3-chloro-phenyl)-4-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-cyano-5-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid (86.2 mg, 0.2 mmol) prepared in Example 1d was reacted with 2-(3,4-dimethoxy-phenyl)ethyl amine (30.3 mg, 0.3 mmol), HATU (76 mg, 0.2 mmol) and iPr2NEt (0.1 mL, 0.55 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) to at rt overnight to give rac-(2R,3R,4R,5S)-3-(3-chloro-phenyl)-4-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-cyano-5-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid 2-(3,4-dimethoxy-phenyl)ethyl amide (53.6 mg, 45.07%).
