2-(Pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazin-2-ylaminomethyl)-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert butyl ester (0.48 g) was dissolved in dichloromethane (3 ml), cooled (ice bath) and treated with trifluoroacetic acid (2 ml). The mixture was stirred for 3 hours at room temperature, solvent removed at reduced pressure and the residue co-evaporated with toluene to give the title compound (0.45 g).
