A solution of (E)-3-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-phenyl-acrylic acid ethyl ester (0.728 g, 2.2 mmol), dimethyl-prop-2-ynyl-amine (0.56 ml, 6.58 mmol), bis(triphenylphosphine) palladium(II) chloride (0.061 g, 0.088 mmol), copper(I) iodide (1.25 mg, 0.0065 mmol) in dry triethyllamine (7 ml) were heated to 100° C. by microwave irradiation for 20 min. To the cooled reaction mixture was added dichloromethane (20 ml) and silica gel Fluka 60 (5 g) and the reaction mixture was evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified by ISCO combiflash 16 (silica gel, hexane/ethyl acetate 85:15) giving (E)-3-[4-(3-dimethylamino-prop-1-ynyl)-phenyl]-3-phenyl-acrylic acid ethyl ester as an oil.
