To a mixture of 230 mg (0.67 mmol) of 2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzoylamino)-indane-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester and 227 mg (1.62 mmol) of potassium carbonate in 6 ml of acetone and 1.7 ml of DMF was added slowly a solution of 437 mg (1.65 mmol) of the compound of step 2. The reaction mixture was stirred for 3 d at room temperature and then evaporated. The residue was purified by preparative RP HPLC (water/ACN gradient) to give 20 mg of the title compound.
