1-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole 2,2-dioxide (general procedure 10.2 g, 0.8 mmol) was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) and triphenylphosphine (0.54 g, 0.9 mmol) was added followed by 4-bromobutan-2-ol (0.14 g, 0.9 mmol) and diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (0.18 g, 0.9 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 18 hours at 23° C. The mixture was concentrated and purified via Isco chromatography (Redisep, silica, gradient 0-50% ethyl acetate in hexane) to afford 0.22 g of 1-(3-bromo-1-methylpropyl)-3-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole 2,2-dioxide.
