Procedure
To a solution of compound 26.1 (0.72 mmol) in THF (5.0 mL) was added aqueous 1.0 M LiOH (6.0 equivalents). The reaction mixture was stirred at 70° C. until all of the starting material was consumed. The reaction was cooled, neutralized with 10% HCl and concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure to provide 4-{2-[4-(3-trifluoromethyl-benzoylamino)-phenyl]-ethylamino}-thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid (compound 26.2).
