Procedure
The polymerization was conducted in cyclohexane by successively introducing styrene, isoprene and styrene into a reactor in this order in the presence of an n-butyllithium polymerization catalyst and tetrahydrofuran, to produce a styrene-isoprene-styrene triblock copolymer. The block copolymer thus produced was hydrogenated in cyclohexane in the presence of a Ziegler hydrogenation catalyst under a hydrogen pressure of 1.96 MPa (20 kg/cm2), to produce the titled hydrogenated triblock copolymer (hereinafter referred to merely as “block copolymer (II-1)”).
