Procedure

Lithium hydroxide (21 μL of a 1.0 M aqueous solution, 0.021 mmol) was added to a solution of acetate 10 (2 mg, 0.004 mmol) in THF (0.2 mL). After stirring 3 d at room temperature, the reaction mixture was partitioned between aqueous HCl (1.0 N, 2 mL) and EtOAc (2 mL). The phases were separated and the aqueous phase was extracted with EtOAc (2 mL). The combined extracts were dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo to afford 1 mg (55%) of the title compound (11).
