In an analogous manner to that described in Example 1d), the alkylation of the (RS)-1-(4-hydroxyoxy-phenyl)-5-oxo-pyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester with 4-fluorobenzylbromide in presence of potassium carbonate yields the (RS)-1-[4-(4-fluoro-benzyloxy)-phenyl]-5-oxo-pyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester as a light yellow powder; MS: m/e=344 (M+H)+.
