Procedure
Styrene (1.2 mmol), chlorobenzene (1 mmol), LDH-Pd0 (3 mol %), tri-n-butyl amine (222mg, 1.2 mmol) and NAIL (3.23 g, 10 mmol) were taken in a teflon vessel, closed and irradiated in a Miele Electronic M270 microwave oven at 400W and 130° C. for 0.5–1 h. After completion of the reaction, the LDH-Pd0 catalyst was filtered and washed with water and dichloromethane. After removing the solvent, the crude material was chromatographed on silica gel to afford the trans-stilbene.
