1,1′-Carbonyldiimidazole (0.74 g, 4.60 mmole) was added to a solution of 2-amino-5-bromo-3-[(2-methoxyethyl)aminomethyl]pyridine (1.00 g, 3.80 mmole) in 1,2-dichloroethane (35 mL) at RT. The reaction was heated at 65° C. with stirring overnight, then was concentrated in vacuo. Flash chromatography on silica gel (5% MeOH/CHCl3) gave title compound (0.90 g, 83%) as a yellow solid after drying in vacuo: MS (ES) m/e 286/288 (M+H)+.
