p-Toluenesulfonic acid hydrate (225 mg, 1.18 mmol) was added in one portion to a mixture of 4-fluoro-2-methoxy-5-nitroaniline (Intermediate 23, 200 mg, 1.07 mmol) and 3-(2-chloropyrimidin-4-yl)-1H-indole (247 mg, 1.07 mmol) in 2-pentanol (10 mL). The resulting mixture was then stirred at 120° C. for 18 h. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with 2-pentanol (5 mL) and dried in vacuo to give a yellow solid. The solid was triturated with CH3CN to give a solid which was collected by filtration and dried in vacuo to give the title compound (224 mg, 55%) as a yellow solid; m/z: ES+ MH+ 380.21.
