A mixture of 632 mg Sodium pyrazin-2-olate and 720 mg 1-Fluoro-4-nitro-benzene and 3.3 g Cs2CO3 in 13 mL DMF was heated to 35° C. for 6 h. This solution was poured on to 300 mL of water and the resulting precipitate was collected by filtration to yield a bright yellow crystalline product, which was dried under reduced pressure. Yield: 545 mg.
