Procedure

To a solution of (4-methylene-1-(3-phenoxyphenyl)cyclohexyl)methanol (53 mg, 0.180 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (0.9 mL) at 0° C. was added m-chloroperbenzoic acid (43.5 mg, 0.252 mmol). The solution was warmed to rt and stirred for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc, washed successively with 1 N aqueous NaOH, water, and brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound (56 mg, 100% yield) as a colorless oil. LCMS, [M+H]+=311.1.

Workup

  1. washwashed successively with 1 N aqueous NaOH, water, and brine
  2. dry with materialdried (MgSO4)
  3. filtrationfiltered
  4. concentrationconcentrated in vacuo
