Procedure
First, 40 g of o-phthalodinitrile, 18 g of titanium tetrachloride and 500 ml of α-chloronaphthalene were reacted by heating and stirring at 220 to 250° C. for 3 hours in a nitrogen atmosphere and then left for cooling. The reaction mixture was then hot filtrated and washed with 200 ml of α-chloronaphthalene heated to 100° C. to give a crude dichlorotitanium phthalocyanine composition.
