Procedure
To a solution of 18.4 g. (0.1 mole) of cyanuric chloride in 150 ml. of acetone being stirred at 0°-5° C. was added dropwise over a 1/2 hr. period a solution of 11.9 g. (0.1 mole) of 4-vinylaniline and 12.9 g. (0.1 mole) of N,N-di-iso-propylethylamine. After the addition was complete, the solution was stirred at room temperature for 15 min., and then poured into 1 liter of ice water to isolate the product. The product was collected by filtration, washed with 200 ml. of water, and dried in vacuo at room temperature to give 25 g. Recrystallization from 75 ml. of benzene gave 15.0 g. (56%) (mp 152°-154°).
