DIPEA (3.0 equiv.) is added to a stirred solution of 2c (1.0 equiv.), 3-(aminomethyl)pyridine (1.0 equiv.) and HATU (1.5 equiv.) in DMF at ambient temperature. After completion of reaction, the reaction mixture is poured into water and extracted three times with EtOAc. The combined organic extracts are washed with water, brine, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo. The crude residue can be purified according to the method described in Step E.
