PROCEDURE

The ester was treated with lithium hydroxide hydrate (0.025 g, 0.60 mmol) in THF (1.4 mL) and water (0.6 mL) and stirred at 25° C. for 30 minutes. The reaction was quenched with Dowex 50 (W×8) acidic resin (prewashed with MeOH) to pH<4.0 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and azeotroped with toluene (2×5 mL), to give the title compound (0.017 g). MS m/e=469.5 (M+H)+. Calculated for C24H21ClN2O6 468.11.
