Procedure
A solution of 25 mmol of bromine in 10 ml of dichloromethane was added to a solution of 25 mmol of triphenylphosphine in 50 ml of dichloromethane at 0° C. under a flow of nitrogen, followed by the addition of 25 mmol of compound 35 in 25 ml of dichloromethane. After complete addition, the mixture was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture was washed with aqueous sodium carbonate, dried over magnesium sulfate and evaporated. The compound was crystallized from methanol. M.p. 134°-136° C.
