Cesium carbonate (1.63 g) was added to a stirred solution of the product of step (iv) (1.5 g) in dimethylsulphoxide (20 ml). After 15 minutes triethylamine (0.71 ml) was added followed by the product from step (ii) (1.11 g). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours and partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. Purification was by chromatography eluting with 5% methanol in chloroform. Yield 1.86 g.
