Hydrogen chloride is bubbled into a solution of 77 (200 mg, 0.47 mmol) in EtOAc (10 mL) for 1 min, and the solution is stirred at RT overnight. The solvent is removed by rotary evaporation, and the residue is crystallized from dichloromethane and Et2O to give 130 mg of the product 78. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 9.80-8.30 (m, 3 H), 7.60-7.30 (m, 5 H), 7.20-7.00 (m, 6 H), 7.00-6.85 (m, 4 H), 5.49 (s, 2 H), 4.59 (d, 2 H); MS: m/z 328 (M++1).
