Hydrogen chloride is bubbled into a solution of 79 (0.23 g, 0.53 mmol) in EtOAc (10 mL) for 1 min, and the solution is stirred at RT overnight. The solvent is removed by rotary evaporation, and the residue triturated with Et2O. The insoluble material is filtered to give 89 mg of the product 80. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 9.08 (m, 1 H), 8.54 (s, 1 H), 7.45 (m, 1 H), 7.15-6.90 (m, 6 H), 6.90-6.70 (m, 4 H), 5.18 (s, 2 H), 3.35-3.10 (m, 2 H), 1.90-1.65 (m, 5 H), 1.40-0.90 (m, 6 H); MS: m/z 334 (M++1).
