A mixture of 124 (200 mg, 0.593 mmol), triethylamine (0.082 mL, 0.583 mmol), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (10 mg), and 4-fluorobenzoyl chloride (0.063 mL, 0.533 mmol) in dichloromethane (2 mL) is stirred at RT for 0.5 h. The solution is diluted with dichloromethane and washed with NaHCO3, brine, and then dried (MgSO4). The mixture is filtered, the filtrate evaporated, and residue purified by chromatography on silica gel; gradient elution with heptane:EtOAc (70:30-60:40) gives 123 mg of the product 125. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 10.00 (s, 1 H), 8.50-8.35 (m, 2 H), 7.20-6.85 (m, 12 H), 6.55-6.40 (m, 2 H), 1.20 (s, 9 H); MS: m/z 460 (M++1).
