Procedure
Ethyl 1-({[2-(trimethylsilyl)ethyl]oxy}methyl)-1,4-dihydropyrrolo[2,3-d]imidazole-5-carboxylate (0.088 g, 0.284 mmol) was dissolved in THF and MeOH. LiOH (1 mL, 1 mmol) was added to the solution and the reaction was heated to 60° C. When starting material was no longer evident by TLC the reaction was evaporated to afford the title compound (0.123 g, 77%) a white solid. This was used with no further purification. LCMS: m/z=280.0 (M−1).
