Procedure
An acetone solution of 3-[4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl]-1-naphthol (50 mg, 0.166 mmol), methyl 4-(bromomethyl)benzoate (73 mg, 0.32 mmol) and K2CO3 (44 mg, 0.32 mmol) was heated at reflux until no starting material remained by HPLC analysis. The solution was concentrated and the residue purified by silica gel chromatography using a hexanes/ethyl acetate gradient to give the title compound. LCMS1 4.64 min. (M+H)=453
