Procedure

A mixture of Intermediate 38 (5.000 g, 17.8 mmol), 2,2-diphenylethylamine (5.200 g, 27 mmol) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (6.2 ml, 36 mmol) in isopropanol (100 ml) was heated to reflux overnight. Upon cooling the solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified using flash column chromatography with a Biotage column (90 g, SiO2) eluting with 5% methanol/chloroform/1% ammonia gave the title compound as an off white solid (4.500 g).
