To a solution of the product of Example 2, Step A (250 mg, 0.82 mmol) in 3 mL of DMF was added 60% NaH (39 mg, 1 mmol, 1.2 eq). After stirring for 5 minutes, 2-cyanobenzoyl chloride (204 mg, 1.23 mmol, 1.5 eq) was added to the reaction mixture. The resultant solution was stirred for 16 hours and the DMF removed in vacuo. The resultant oil was flash chromatographed with 2:1 hexane/ethyl acetate to yield the titled compound (292 mg, 82%).
