Procedure
6 mg 2-methyl-2-{[1-(3-phenyl-propylamino)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]-amino}-propionic acid methyl ester in 0.2 ml THF, 40 μl of 2 M sodium hydroxide and 0.2 ml methanol were reacted at room temperature for 3 h. To the mixture 0.5 ml of water were added and the pH was adjusted to 3-4 with 2 M hydrochloride acid. The volatiles were then removed by freeze drying, the resultic residue was suspended in methanol and filtrated. Concentration of the filtrate yielded 3 mg of 2-methyl-2-{[1-(3-phenyl-propylamino)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]-amino}-propionic acid.
