Procedure

To a mixture of quinoline-6-carboxylic acid (O-1) (2.0 g, 11.5 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (250 mL) was added 3 drops of DMF at 0° C., followed by oxalyl chloride (7.3 g, 57.5 mmol) dropwise. The resulting reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight, and then concentrated to afford the title compound (2.2 g).
