Procedure

To a mixture of tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-ol (U-1) (1.02 g, 10 mmol) and Et3N (1 mL) in dried DCM (20 mL) was added MsCl (2 mL) dropwise. The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1 h, then washed with water. The organic layer was separated, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated to afford the title compound (1.8 g).
