To a suspension of 1-amino-7-bromo[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]pyridine-4-carboxamide (Example 12, Step 10) in DMF (0.1 M) was added phenylboronic acid (1.5 equiv). The mixture was degassed for 5 min, and 1 M Na2CO3 (3 equiv) and PdCl2dppf (0.1 equiv) were added. It was heated is the microwave reactor at 120° C. for 10 min. The organic phase was separated, dried over MgSO4, filtered, evaporated and purified by flash chromatography (EtOAc/MeOH) to provide the title compound.
