Procedure
1.15 grams of N-ethylmorpholine was alkylated with 1,4-butanesultone in similar fashion to the previous example to give 1.09 grams of a white solid. The structure was confirmed by positive mode electrospray mass spectroscopy (M+H)=252.6 and (M+Na) 274.2 m/z and 1H NMR.
