1.76 g (2.89 mmol) of (2-{[1-(tert-Butyl-dimethyl-silanyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl]-hydroxy-methyl}-5-chloro-pyridin-3-yl)-(4-methoxy-benzyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester and 3.08 g (7.22 mmol) of Dess-Martin periodinane were dissolved in 10 mL of DCM and stirred at r.t. for 2 h. The reaction was worked up with aqueous sodium bicarbonate and sodium thiosulfate followed by purification on silica with 0-50% ethyl acetate in hexanes to afford 0.97 g of a mixture of the expected product and its desilylated analog as a yellow solid.
