A solution of (R)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-(6-morpholin-4-yl-pyridine-3-sulfonyl]-1,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1,2,6-triaza-cyclopenta[b]naphthalene-4a-carboxylic acid (0.29 g) in dry dichloromethane (9 mL) was treated with oxalyl chloride (0.21 g) for 30 minutes. One drop of N,N-dimethylformamide was added and the reaction mixture stirred for a further 2 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and the product used without further purification.
