A solution of ethyl 4-isocyanatobenzoate 280 (2.0 g, 10.46 mmol) and pyridin-3-ylmethanol in THF was stirred at room temperature for 18 h then concentrated. The crude material was taken up in 2N HCl, heated to reflux for 16 h then cooled to −78° C. and lyophilized to give a solid material which was triturated with acetone to give title compound 281 (3.098 g, 96% yield).
