To a stirred mixture of 4-biphenylsulfonyl chloride (63 mg, 0.25 mmol) and 2-(piperidin-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole (50 mg, 0.25 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) is added N,N-diisopropylethylamine (62 μL, 0.37 mmol). After 18 h the reaction mixture is washed with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. Trituration with heptane gives 21 mg of 2-[1-(biphenyl-4-ylsulfonyl)piperidin-4-yl]-1H-benzimidazole.
