A mixture of compound 14 (100 mg), paraformaldehyde (100 mg), p-toluenesulfonic acid (60 mg) in benzene (5 mL) was stirred at 70-75° C. for 2 days. Filtration, washing with sat. NaHCO3 and concentration gave crude product 15 in an estimated yield of ˜70% by TLC and NMR.
