According to the procedure described in Example 113B, 6-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-4-amine (480 mg, 2.94 mmoles) was dissolved in 20 mL of tetrahydrofuran. To this solution was added potassium carbonate (528 mg, 3.82 mmoles), followed by phenyl chloroformate (598 mg, 3.82 mmoles). An additional equivalent of phenyl chloroformate was added after stirring overnight and the reaction heated to 60° C. for 2 days. The crude product was purified to afford phenyl 6-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-4-ylcarbamate as a white solid. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 10.12 (s, 1H), 9.13 (s, 1H), 8.46 (s, 1H), 7.7-7.2 (m, 5H)
