Procedure

To a suspension of 3,4,5-trimethoxy-N-(2-oxazolo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-yl-phenyl)-benzamide (0.03 g, 0.1 mmol) in 3 mL of DMF was added sodium hydride (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 0.006 g, 0.2 mmol). The mixture was stirred at RT for 30 minutes, becoming homogeneous. To this was then added iodomethane, drop wise (0.040 g, 0.3 mmol, 0.02 mL). After an additional hour at RT, the reaction was quenched with water and then partitioned between saturated NH4Cl and EtOAc. The organic layer was washed with brine and dried over MgSO4. The crude product was purified by silica chromatography, 0-5% methanol/dichloromethane. The desired product was isolated as a yellow solid. (Calc'd for C23H21N3O5: 419.44, [M+H]+ found: 420.1).
