To a cooled solution (0° C.) of (5-bromo-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-8-yl)-(3-hydroxymethyl-4-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (0.17 g, 0.34 mmol) in DCM (0.5 mL), is added triethylamine (0.104 mL, 0.74 mmol) followed by methanesulfonyl chloride (0.046 mL, 0.6 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred at 0° C. for 1 hour and an additional hour at room temperature. The reaction mixture is diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with water. The organic layer is dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (0.224 g) used in the next step without further purification.
