To a suspension of ethyl 4-[6-amino-5-(1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl)pyridin-3-yl]phenoxyacetate (132 mg, 0.330 mmol) in EtOH (2.0 mL) was added 3M aqueous NaOH (0.50 mL, 1.5 mmol). Then, the mixture was acidified to pH=2 with 1M aq. HCl. Vacuum filtration afforded the title compound as a yellow solid. MS (ES+): m/z=506.88 (100) [MH+]. HPLC: tR=3.14 min (ZQ3, polar—5 min).
