Procedure
A solution of 5-chloro-2-fluoroaniline (2.0 g, 13.7 mmol, 1 eq.) and potassium O-ethyl dithiocarbonate (4.8 g, 30.3 mmol, 2.2 eq) in anhydrous DMF (20 mL) was heated at 100° C. under nitrogen for 4 h. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temp., diluted with water (50 mL), and acidified with 2N HCl with constant stirring at low temperature. Yellowish solid was collected by filtration, and washed with cold water. The wet filter cake was dissolved in ethyl acetate (50 mL), and the solution was dried over sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as yellowish solid. 1H-NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz): δ=7.71 (d, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 7.34 (d, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 7.27 (s, 1H).
