Procedure
3.22 g (26.4 mmol) of benzyl hydrazine together with 4.4 ml (1.2 eq) of triethylamine and 0.16 g of DMAP (0.05 eq) were initially charged in 50 ml of dichloromethane, and 5.5 g of 2,3,6-trifluorophenylacetyl chloride in 50 ml of dichloromethane were then slowly added dropwise at 0° C. The mixture was then stirred at room temperature overnight, and ammonium chloride solution was added. The organic phase was separated off, dried and concentrated. Purification by column chromatography gave 6.2 g of 2,3,6-trifluorophenylacetic acid 1-methylhydrazide.
