Procedure
A mixture of 4-(pyridin-2-yloxymethyl)-benzaldehyde (23.4 g, 110 mmol) described in Manufacturing Example 1-1-2, nitromethane (33.6 g, 550 mmol), ammonium acetate (17.0 g, 220 mmol), and acetic acid (200 mL) was stirred for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 100° C. A small amount of water was added thereto while the reaction solution was stirred under ice cooling, and the precipitated solids were filtered, so as to obtain the titled compound (21.0 g, 74.5%).
