To a solution of 2,6-difluoro-4-[(3-hydroxy-5,5,8,8,-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalene-2-carbonyl)-amino]-benzoic acid (Compound B, 56 mg, 0.13 mmol) in 4 ml of acetone was added potassium carbonate (36 mg, 0.26 mmol) and iodoethane (0.012 ml, 0.14 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours then concentrated and purified by column chromatography with ethyl acetate: hexane (1:9) to yield the title compound as a white solid.
