A solution of methyl 4-{[acetyl({1-[(trimethylsilyl)methyl]-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl}methyl)amino]methyl}benzoate (101 mg, 0.270 mmol), THF (809 uL) and MeOH (270 uL) was treated with aqueous LiOH (270 uL, 0.809 mmol, 3M in water). The reaction immediately turned red and was stirred overnight. The reaction was quenched with 2M aq. HCl and extracted with EtOAc 2×. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to afford the protosilylated carboxylic acid as a yellow oil. MS: cal'd 361 (MH+), exp 361 (MH+).
