Procedure

A mixture of 8-chloro-2-isopropenyl-4-methyl-3-(4-pyrazol-1-ylbenzyl)quinolin-5-ol (0.26 g), ethyl acetate (10 mL), methanol (5.0 mL) and palladium hydroxide (0.05 g) was stirred at room temperature for 27 hours under an atmosphere of hydrogen. The mixture was filtered through Celite and the filtrated concentrated under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by column chromatography on silica gel, eluting with a mixture of cyclohexane and ethyl acetate (1:0 to 0:1 by volume) gave title compound as a yellow oil (0.21 g),
