PROCEDURE

To a solution of 1-azido-3-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene (500 mg, 2.75 mmol) in THF (4 mL) and water (1 mL) was added triphenylphosphine (720 mg, 2.75 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 45 min then partitioned between water and EtOAc. The organic layer was separated and washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was subjected to flash chromatography (Si—PCC, Et2O) to give the desired product as a yellow solid (844 mg, 73%). LCMS (Method A): RT 4.36 min; [M+H]+ 417
