4-Bromo-2-methyl-7-nitro-2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindol-1-one (320.0 mg, 1.180 mmol), methyl isonipecotate (1.595 mL, 11.80 mmol), DIPEA (2.056 mL, 11.80 mmol) and DMF (5 mL) were mixed and heated in sealed tube at 90° C. for 3 days. The crude mixture was purified by MDP under basic conditions to obtain the title compound (33 mg, 8.4% yield). MS (ES+): m/z 334.16 (100) [MH+]; HPLC: tR=0.80 min (UPLC, Analytical).
